Carl Vincent (Mitchell) Footman, Sr., affectionately known to family and friends as “Foots” or “Base Drum,” was born on October 1, 1959, in Delray Beach, Florida, to Vina Bell (Mathis) Footman (deceased) and Levoyd “Duke” Mitchell.

Carl was educated in the Palm Beach County School District and later graduated from Boca Raton High School, Class of 1977.

Carl was a mild-tempered man who deeply loved his family and was dearly loved in return. During his school years, he proudly played the bass drum in the marching band. He also enjoyed playing golf and was known for being a smooth and joyful dancer. Carl was a member of the Born Free Motorcycle Club in Boynton Beach, Florida. He worked alongside his brother Michael in cabinetry and with his brother Joe in construction. He was a supervisor at Florentine Marble for over 20 years. Carl loved the Lord and was an avid believer in Christ.

On Tuesday, March 17, 2026, Carl peacefully passed away.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Vina Bell Mathis Footman.
