Lottie Lois
Adderley-Patrick
May 10, 1941 – March 4, 2026
Suddenly on Wednesday afternoon, March 4, 2026 Lottie Lois Adderley Patrick flew away from an earthly ministry to her eternal resting place, gracefully. Glory to God! Lottie was born on May 10, 1941 in Boynton Beach, Florida. She was the sixth child of ten children born to Cecil L. Adderley, Sr. and Lillian Gardner. Like many first and second generation Bahamian families in Boynton the family business was hard work. They focused on hard work, they exemplified hard work and expected hard work on seasonal agricultural jobs between Florida, New Jersey, and New York.
Lottie fulfilled her role as a daughter with reverence for her parents and a healthy fear of God. Working the land during seasonal travels helped to keep Lottie motivated and focused on higher education. In her formative years Lottie was trained with home duties before school, school activities and then participation in Church activities, without much complaint but definitely without an option.
The Church, the School, her home and village around her provided care, inspiration and mentorship to Lottie. Lottie’s primary and secondary education was in Palm Beach County. She attended Boynton Beach Elementary up to 8th grade and Carver High School in Delray Beach. Due to limited school options in a segregated County, Lottie’s school bus route came from the Rangeline, then to Lake Osbourne, then to Boynton and then south to Delray.
Lottie participated in the glee club and was very athletic with participation on the softball team, basketball team and the track team. These activities were a large part of her high school involvement and list of accomplishments. After graduating from Carver High School in 1958 Lottie spent a “gap year” in Moorestown, New Jersey with her older sister Cookie and husband Milton. After that brief sabbatical, Lottie attended Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University in Tallahassee, FL. This is when her and her future husband Casey Patrick, Jr., began to court. The following year her younger sister Linda joined her at FAMU and later would became her roommate.
In 1963 Lottie graduated with her Bachelors of Science degree in Education. Upon graduating from College she spent two years teaching at Rock Island Elementary in Broward County, FL. Lottie earned her Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, however, she preferred the classroom over an Administrative path. Lottie was a devoted educator. In addition to her years teaching in Broward, she served the Palm Beach County area in the classroom for more than 33 years, many of those year-round, teaching Summer School, ESOL and night school. Lottie received countless letters of appreciation and cards over the years. Her career culminated at Loxahatchee Groves Elementary although the positive impact of her care and teaching was felt by thousands of students and parents and administrators at all the schools she was blessed to teach at.
Lottie was Joined in holy matrimony to Casey Patrick, Jr. on June 14, 1964 at the Boynton Beach Church of God officiated by Casey’s cousin Rev. Thomas A. Wright. Together Lottie and Casey built a life in Boynton close to their parents and focused on family, their career and continuing the legacy of faith. Lottie was raised in and remained a lifelong active member of the Boynton Beach Church of God. God blessed Lottie and Casey’s union with two beautiful children, Rodney Lamar Patrick Sr. (Rhonda) along with Lyntrice Anita Grant (Ashley). Lottie also had the honor and privilege to be “like a mother” to her niece Lillian “Gwen” Simpson (Morris).
Besides teaching, Lottie’s other key interests along with her husband were Redecorating, Renovations plus Professional “Cruiser.” She excelled at them all. The couple completed many redecorating and renovation projects while sailing thousands of nautical miles. Royal Caribbean was her favorite, especially when they launched a new ship. Lottie a.k.a. Mimi was also passionately devoted to loving on and serving her grandchildren Rodney Jr., Rishon, Jordyn, Dallys, Kaysie and great-grandchildren Adrian and Savannah. For Rodney Jr., Rishon, Jordyn, Dallys and Kaysie, Mimi and PopPop’s house was their study hall as Mimi actively injected her priority of a daily afterschool homework routine.
Lottie was preceded in death by her Father Cecil Adderley Sr.,her Mother Lillian Adderley, her sisters Gladys, Blanche “Cookie”; brothers Jessee Lee, John Calvin, EnRico, Dwight and granddaughter Dallys Lillian Grant.
Lottie is blessed to be survived by her devoted spouse of nearly 62 years Mr. Casey Patrick, Jr., siblings Cecil Jr. “Junior”, Beatrice “Bea”, Harriet “Linda”, Ronald “Ronnie” (Betty) and a brother-in-law Earl Kent (Janet). A constant memory of love, joy, service, and faith in God will live on through the special bond that she has with all of her nieces, nephews, cousins, God-children and close friends on all sides of the family. Also, will her favorite faith proclamation live on that “God makes no mistake!” Amen.
