Saintemene
Regisme
March 2, 2026
Saintamene Regisme (Mom), a native of Delone, was born on March 4, 1945 to the late Melicia
Melius and Denier Barthelmy. In addition to her parents, mom was preceded in death by her
daughter, Nerlyne Regisme. This untimely death took a long-lasting toll on mom’s physical
health problems. Mom was also predeceased by her husband of 48 years, Marc M. Regisme.
Mom is survived by 6 children (2 daughters and 4 sons).
After immigrating to Florida in 1984, mom spent over 21 dedicated years working for several
employers, where she was known for her work ethic, kindness, and commitment to others. Mom
was a strong, hardworking, and determined woman. Even in her sickness she fought until the
very end. She dedicated her life to being a fantastic and wonderful mother to her children, and a
grandmother to their children. In fact, she made it her mission to improve the lives of her
children by putting their well-being before her own. And for that she will always be remembered
as a true warrior.
Mom had a palate for great Mexican food, with favorites including chicken fajita and tortilla
chips with refreshing salsa. She found joy in the world created by Papa Pyè Lavi Nan Bouk La.
Her favorite thing to do was cooking for her family. Mom's preference for the color pink was
indicative of her compassion, nurturing and love. The greatest lesson she shared with us is the
importance of education and the act of showing love to one another. The roles she cherished
most were those of a mother and later a grandmother. Moreover, it is worth noting that mom
shared a close bond with her first daughter, Eltha, who stood by her through every chapter of life.
Unfortunately, mom left her earthly body on Monday, March 2, 2026, a mere 2 days before her
81 st birthday. We are forever grateful that her firstborn, Evens, was able to see and be with her
during her last few minutes so she didn’t die alone. Most importantly, we are so happy that we
had the opportunity to celebrate her 80 th birthday, spend time and create more memories with her.
One thing we will never forget about that event is the lesson learned, the journey of our mom,
her accomplishments and struggles, the path she has chosen and the love she has given to her
loved ones. We will miss her greatly. Her generous spirit will always be remembered forever.
